Description

Modular Base Collection - Tree Farm.

AKA the Tree Harvester, or the Timbercutter, is back!!
(Original creation of mine 5 years ago: Elykdez's Timbercutter - the Semi-Auto Tree Farm)

Have you been wondering why trees in Minecraft won't taken down after you chop off the roots?
Here is the Minecraftic solution! It was one of my old creations, now reborn and upgraded as an MBC base.

With brand spanking NEW features:
- Destroys all leaves, super efficient design without any loss.
- Farms most types of trees (see the notes below).
- Extremely compact. The core mechanism is only 15x15x15 with all the things around.
- Easy for maintenance and survival friendly.
- Faster speed (5 trees / min) and more stable with improved redstone circuitry.
- Alarming mechanism added to prevent conveyor overflow.
- Much aesthetically pleasing, less redstone exposed.
- Awesome animation.
- And even more...

Version required: 1.14+

How to import (in vanilla MC):
1. Read the instruction about structure block on wiki.
2. Place the nbt file under {MC directory}/saves/{your world}/generated/minecraft/structures/.
3. Open your world and type: /give @a minecraft:structure_block 1.
4. Always 'Include Entities'. If you load more than once, turn it off on consequent loads.
5. Load it into your world, structure name = file name.
6. If anything breaks, load it twice after 10 seconds.
(The cover picture actually shows a broken one. The glass on the left should not be bumped if you load it correctly)
7. Replace the structure block with sandstone and it is done.
8. It is also importable by WorldEdit, or anything supports .nbt files.

How to use:
1. Find the lever in the main chamber.
2. Flip it, plant your favorite tree on the top of the dirt block.
3. Bone-meal the sapling (or wait it grow...) to a tree.
4. Flip the lever again and behold how industrialization wins over nature.
5. Collect all drops. You may repeat the process above once all the sand goes back.
6. When the alarm beeps (about 20 trees approximately planted from empty), chop all wood blocks in the storage area and you may have lots of them.

Caveats:
- This contraption works only on trees without branches. It will fully (100%) work on spruce, jungle and birch; mostly (90%) work on oak and hardly (10%) work on acacia, but after you destroy their branches.
- Again, you have to wait ALL sand goes down to start a new planting.
- If you do not follow the instruction above, the sand pusher will break. Luckily this is easy to fix by refilling all sand with an 'L' shape all the way to the top without a gap (re-pasting works as well, if you feel that lazy~).
- This is not an AFK farm nor the fastest, but really efficient. If you are looking for sheer speed, this one might not tickle your fancy, but I'm sure you'd be impressed by give it a try!

~ Thanks to Cubehamster(Youtube) again for his awesome leaf-destroyer design.
~ Thanks to everyone who supports me over so many years. I apologize deeply for forgetting to update my old design and wasting your time on trying it, so here comes the new and better one.
~ Thanks to BSL shaders and Soartex resource pack for the amazing screenshots.
~ Enjoy, please endorse if you like it, and have fun.

im having a problem with the push mecanism, due the sand blocks that push the logs to the roof get destroyed each time the mecanism is activated, it get to the point where the are no method to push the log to the roof and the entire mechanism got broke, i tried to replace some sand blocks on the place they are suposed to be, but this only broke the mechanis on other place, and the blocks still getin destroyed   by MaxwellKH3

Im importing it by using litematica. Problem is in mechanism that moves blocks on top of the farm. 1 of the piston is moved away by logs and is breaking the redstone circuit, probably by some timing issues.   by radekc19

Thank you for supporting my creation!

Trying to recurring the issue in 1.16.3 with 15 spruce trees planted but nothing happened.

The issue that was mentioned is very possibly caused by these:
1. I haven't checked litematica but that might happen while dealing with .nbt file if it shares some coding with a structure block. Try to import it twice (9s-10s later) after 1st time (piston sounds ceased). Also you may wanna check the 'How to import' section for confirming some issue descriptions.
2. If you've planted a 'not totally normal' tree, it may destroy the mechanism - possible trees are oak and acacia. Actually the most tree I farmed with this in my survival was oak~ just remove branches if you planted an oak yet it goes a big one, that's kinda only 10% chance as mentioned in the 'Caveats' section.
3. If you hear the alarm beeping, that means the storage is full and all wood blocks need to be removed or the conveyor system will overflow.

And if still the problem occurs with the conveyor belt mentioned on the top of the farm, and you are sure everything you've done was ok, you may adjust the conveyor timing by entering the 'maintenance' area and tweak the hopper clock (17 redstone dusts in MC 1.16.3 now). I wouldn't recommend that since it seems everything works fine here, but that could be the silver bullet to solve this, even in the future version of MC.

Feedback received!

As I have just downloaded the file, tested in MC ver 1.16.3 in a fresh new world, it worked fine.

Here is a list of solutions to possible issues you might have encountered:
1. The structure block only works in creative mode with cheats on, you might switch mode by starting a LAN game with those settings and press F3+F4 to change. A very detailed tutorial video is given under the MBC index post: https://www.minecraft-schematics.com/schematic/13819/ (also how to import in vanilla game and so on).
2. If you use Worldedit, make sure to use the latest version of forge and the mod that supports 1.16.3. Any other 3rd party software supports .nbt file format should be 100% capable of import it.

And should I have mentioned, since there is a bug in structure blocks, you may need to load it twice after some (9-10) seconds. You might get more important information in my post, and please provide more detail if you still have any trouble so I can help you better! :D
