This is just my first schematic, I am planning to add more later on.

Next schematic will be published around summer time because I will have enough time during summer. However schematics will most probably not be published after or before summer due to school.

desert pit fall trap

This is a layered cube. the top is a single block of emerald ore, the next layer is all sand. the next several layers are air followed by a few layers of lava.

when the ore is mined the sand gets "updated" and everything falls into the lava with enough room for the sand and player.

Till now no one had a similar problem as you did. Maybe you need more memory to implement such a big structure on your server? I don't know... dimensions appart, this is no big deal.

HighWind IV :AIRSHIP

In the original mine craft (no mods) this will not move around but it can be placed in the sky using MC_edit.
I currently do not have any information about airship game mods, although i have seen a few on youtube, that would be a good place to start.
