Description

Better Village Project

I have begun a new series of builds focused around the beloved villages of the testificates. My plan is to rebuild each type of building over again and make drastic improvements in the aesthetics as well as the functionality of each building. The first installment will include the five most recent rebuilds I have done and when I have completed all of the buildings I will be releasing a functional village build including all of them arranged within the village.

When I say "functional" what I mean is that the game will recognize these as valid village buildings and as such each build I post will be devoid of exterior doors. Once you have placed this build where you would like inside your own functional village then you may add the exterior doors and watch as the population of your village swells a bit in response!

Lastly, you may notice the descriptor of (Basic) has been included above. This is because I plan on building four stages of each building; Basic, Standard, Improved and Grand. Each of these build packs will be interchangeable and all will be functional village buildings at their release. This should provide you with plenty of variety of a similar build style so you can build your own custom villages which are Minecraft valid :)

Basic Village

I present to you for your enjoyment a village constructed of the components which I have posted to the site. Each part of this town is available as a seperate build so that you can build your own villages which fit into the world you are playing within. This village has numerous chests but none of them are filled due to the fact that I wanted to leave this as an option for those of you who wish to convert this into an adventure map or if you want to restrict access to certain objects on your server.

the village is prepopulated and has a healthy, well established collection of villagers as well as an armed security force in the form of several Iron Golems. Please, on this build above all others I have submitted thus far, I would very much Like feedback so that when I begin the Standard Village I will know what was good and what was not so good about this village and its buildings.

also, if you do end up converting this sample into an adventure map, let me know! I would love to play through and rate your work :)

If you do use this build, please rate it and if you download it please let me know in the comments how you feel about the build or if you have any issues with it whatsoever. Awaiting a fix for the gates too. Last visit of creator was November last year - i do not think there will be a fix this year or another one.

Love your village, especially the gates and command blocks (chimes). Unfortunately v1.10 apparently broke your build so the gates and chimes no longer work. Would love to see you fix these so I could use your village again.

I would love to see the improvements you have for this build. I have been fairly dormant here because I have been slightly obsessed with TerraFirmaCraft and as such have not been playing vanilla in a while. To top it off my computer took a crap and I lost all of my in progress projects. Needless to say I was quite pissed lol.

But... If you have any improvements I would love to see them! Post a link in reply here and I will take a look :)

Thank you for this build. I really like it. The only thing missing for me was a large manor or castle built into the village wall. I say large because I always play modded minecraft, and none of the buildings are large enough to house the modded content. Can't wait to see the more detailed builds.

lol it conflicted with the project red mod I had installed and started have volcanic eruptions all over the place, from what I saw though it is an impressive build just a shame it became all lava coated

Not only for this but also for providing all the little individual parts and houses so that one can build their own village.
I've been looking for something like this for absolute ages. Houses small enough they don't take up ridiculous space that I can place NPCs in but ones that look better than the original Minecraft village houses. I often play with mods like Minecraft comes alive but the generation of Minecraft houses in villages is bonkers and the villages often look, well, like shit. So I make my own. However, building in game, even in creative, is way too much effort. It's just not worth it.
And here you are serving me up a solution on a silver platter. Again, thank you.

Hachiseiko, thank you for such a kind comment! I am planning on building three more villages of increasing grandeur and with each I intend on offering them both piecemeal as well as prebuilt as an example as well.

Hopefully you find these as well as other builds of mine up to par as I have a bad habit of holding myself at a very high standard for any build I post. As such, I tend to be delayed in release. At the moment I am neck deep in building a small Egyptian tomb dungeon but the 5 piston extender I need for some of the doors are posing a bit of an issue and my historic build has lost some interest for now so maybe I will begin on the next part of this series...
