oh theres also another item filter at the front of the machine. same config. theres one hopper that faces into a comparator, fill this one with diamonds

look near the back right side of the machine. there should be a single hopper that faces into a comparator. this is the filter hopper. add 18 items into one of the slots, then 1 item into the other slots. remember, there are two other hoppers on the left side with comparators next to them, but these do not have the hoppers facing into them. the items you put into the filter hopper should correspond with one of the items in the top dropper. droppers select an item at random to drop so this machine has a 1 in 9 chance of giving a win. when the "win" item gets dropped, it goes through the filter and triggers the win sequence. if any other item gets dropped, it it gets blocked by the filter and triggers the lose sequence.
