With the design, you can make it go as high as you want, you just have to continue the redstone torches going up

Theres 4 layers, can be mixed with either bamboo and/or sugar cane. Each layer with 2 rows split in half with slime blocks (you can also use honey blocks) with 2 rows of grass blocks on both side. 2 pistons on each end of the slime pushing it forward and then backwards clearing both rows while the crops fall down into the water going into a loot collection system. The redstone clock is a hopper based time clock that signals each side every few seconds (depending on how many blocks/items you put in the hopper (I usually do half a stack). Then it just works, just make sure you completely line it up inbetween 4 chunks or else the pistons in the tower wont work.
