Description

This machine provides the player with a semi-automated renewable supply of chicken meat, feathers, and eggs, and is practical for building in survival.

It can be built in a 5x13 box and 4-5 blocks high, depending on whether you count the one single block acting as a ceiling.

How does it work? Okay, so there's two chambers that will contain chickens. The chamber on the right without the kill switch is where eggs will be generated and sent through the minecart system to be used for either chambers. The chamber on the left with the kill switch is where you can get your chicken-related materials from, either through waiting for eggs to be sent through the hopper system to the chest or through killing the adult chickens inside with the kill switch for feathers and chicken meat.

If you set one of the switches for controlling the hoppers to on, eggs will be sent through that hopper— as the minecart drives over it— to the dispenser, and the dispenser will be activated each time the minecart drives over the powered rail underneath the dispenser, firing an egg into the chamber. It is through this system that makes these chicken materials renewable; so long as there are chickens in the right chamber, eggs will continue to circulate through the system to spawn more chickens.

You're going to have to be patient with the machine. The chances for a baby chicken to spawn when an egg is thrown is slim, and it can take a while for a baby chicken to grow into an adult chicken. Most of the time, you will have the right chamber's hopper switch turned off (you'd only turn it on if you felt like you needed more eggs circulating through the system).

NOTE 1: You can actually customize the schematic to your liking. It's pretty open-ended. For example: you can remove the switch for turning the minecart on and off to save space and materials in exchange for having a minecart constantly rolling around your house. On the other hand, if you don't like how slow it can be to fire eggs through the dispenser, you can expand the schematic so that the detector rails are linked to a redstone clock, so that the dispenser will fire a few times per round instead of just once. You can also play around with the placing of the materials to get a size you want. 5x13x4 is the smallest size I was able to make for it, but you can adjust it if you can't fit a width of 13 in your home.
NOTE 2: Don't forget the minecart with a chest. I totally forgot to put one there while taking the screenshots.
NOTE 3: After some testing around, I've discovered that the machine can be very inefficient if there's too many powered rails, because the minecart will go too fast for the hoppers (although it still works, only once in a blue moon). If this happens, reduce the number powered rails you have so that the hoppers can do their work. Don't reduce too many though!

Hey, calm down. As I explained in an earlier reply, I don't have that program and I don't play Minecraft often enough anymore- maybe once or twice every few months. I'm too busy with college to worry about maintaining this thing, just kinda hoped someone would appreciate this creation. No need to fuss.

I don't have whatever program used to create ".schematica" files, and I don't play Minecraft often enough to really go through the trouble. Sorry.

Also, not a guy.
